Blair Overman, Director of Sailing

Blair, a US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Certified instructor, grew up sailing on the Neuse River in North Carolina. She joined NMHF in May 2008 as the Director of Youth Programs. Before coming to NMHF and DC Sail, Blair worked for the sailing program at Camp Seafarer in Arapahoe, North Carolina. Here, she gained many years of sailing instruction experience while working with a fleet of over 70 boats that put 500 children on the water per session.

Emily grew up on a small sailing island in New England. As a recent graduate of George Washington University, she brings her knowledge and passion for non-profits and all things operational to DC Sail. She is the friendly voice that picks up when you call the office and she's the one that helps to keep our programs operating smoothly.

Our Instructors

Our instructors are dedicated and skilled volunteers who undergo annual training to bring the best quality sailing instruction to the water. Many of our instructors are US Sailing Certified Instructors, and have sailed in all corners of the globe.

You will meet instructors from all parts of the United States and from around the world including Australia, Great Britain, India and Netherlands.
