Emily Rodegast, Communications Manager

Emily grew up on a small sailing island in New England. As a recent graduate of George Washington University, she brings her knowledge and passion for non-profits and all things operational to DC Sail. She is the friendly voice that picks up when you call the office and she's the one that helps to keep our programs operating smoothly.

Brian grew up learning how to sail in Southern New Jersey. Brian has lived and worked in the Caribbean doing various sailing related jobs. He has logged thousands of offshore miles and one trans-Atlantic crossing. He currently holds a US Sailing Level 1 small boat instructor certification, a US Power boating instructor certification, and an ACA certified kayak instructor certification. He is responsible for the oversight of all waterfront operations and staff.
Our Volunteer Instructors
Our instructors are dedicated and skilled volunteers who undergo annual training to bring the best quality sailing instruction to the water. Many of our instructors are US Sailing Certified Instructors, and have sailed in all corners of the globe.

Seth Berger - Seth is a U.S. Sailing Certified instructor, and has sailed with DC Sail for nearly 5 years. He has spent time sailing in Annapolis and the Caribbean. He enjoys spending his weekends at the waterfront teaching others to sail.

Greg Simonson - Greg can be found at the waterfront on a regular basis. He has an incredible passion for teaching and dedicates his time off the water, as Chairman of the Sailors Advisory Group (SAG) for DC Sail.
