Some racing experience is required, however, it is also encouraged that sailors have a basic knowledge of the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and be confident in their Flying Junior required sailing skills.

To gain this knowledge and an insight into tactics, strategy and boat handling, sailors can take DC Sail's  Intro to FJs Course which runs monthly throughout the peak season.
