Registration

  • Sailors registered at this level will attend after school practices and will compete in weekend regattas. Please note that there will be an additional registration fees as much as $150 to cover ISSA League registrations if sole participant from any given school. For multiple sailors attending from a single school, we will work with families to share the $150 league fees.
  • Sailors registered at this level will not compete in weekend regattas.
  • For qualified family with less than $50,000 annual household income. Sailors registered at this level will attend after school practices and will compete in weekend regattas. (*Additional Fees may be invoiced.)
  • For qualified family with less than $50,000 annual household income. Documentation required. Sailors at this level will not compete in weekend regattas.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: THIS IS FOR GREEN FLEET REGISTRATION ONLY.  REGISTRATION FOR JV OR VARSITY LEVEL SAILORS USING THIS REGISTRATION FORM WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED/REFUNDED AND UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM. 

Welcome to the Green Fleet High School Racing Program!

The regatta schedule will be confirmed at the start of the season. Coaching staff will be in touch with updates as needed.

Registration is a Two-Part Process. 

Step One: Please submit both the website registration form along with full payment with a credit/debit card. Unpaid registrations will be automatically cancelled by the system after 15 minutes. Please make sure you have your payment information available at the time of registration to assure the completion of the online registration process.

When entering information into the form, please enter parent name at the top of the form. There are fields below on the form for sailors' information. 

Proceed to check out to confirm the registration. 

Step Two: Launch, print and complete hard copy Registration Form.  

Please click here for the Spring 2026 Registration Document. Sailors should bring the hard copy original forms at Tryouts or the first day of practice and deliver to Coaching Staff.

Practice and home regattas take place at DC Sail, Diamond Teague Park Piers, 99 Potomac Street SE, Washington, DC 20003.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: 

  • Requests for cancellation 30+ days from start date would receive a full refund.
  • Requests for cancellation within 30 days to 14 days from start date would receive a 75% refund.
  • Requests for cancellations with less than 14 days prior are non-refundable
DC Sail will not offer “pro-rated” discounts or refunds once the season has commenced. Sailors are required to be fully committed to attend all scheduled practices and to complete the season prior to registration.


Spring 2026 Season:

AFTER-SCHOOL PRACTICE SCHEDULE: (4:00 PM to 7:00 PM - Sailors are "on time" if they are ready to sail at 4:00 PM.)

Varsity: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays

JV & Green Fleet: Tuesdays, Thursdays (& sometimes Fridays*)

*JV sailors on full teams (4+ sailors from same school) are required to attend Friday practices regularly. Additional JV & Green Fleet sailors may be invited to attend Fridays as space allows.

START OF SEASON – VARSITY: After-School Practices for Varsity will start March 2nd, 2026. The first two practices will be considered Varsity Tryouts and are mandatory for all sailors wishing to sail on the Varsity team.

START OF SEASON – JV & GF: After-School Practices for JV and Green Fleet will start March 10th, 2026.

TRYOUTS: Tryouts are not required for JV or Green Fleet levels.

REGATTAS: Sailors who elect to compete in weekend regattas during registration are eligible to compete in MDISA regattas throughout the season. Typically, sailors compete in at least two events**, but it could be many more depending on their availability and the size of their team. The regatta calendar will not be finalized until mid-February. Once dates are confirmed, we will reach out with additional information and a full calendar for the season ahead.

**Green Fleet sailors typically compete in one event their first season, but may compete in additional events depending on their school team, experience level, and as space allows.

END OF SEASON: The spring season practice schedule will officially end on May 15th, however sailors may be selected for end-of-season invitational regattas and a fleet clean-up week will follow. Expect regular practice-time commitments through May 22nd, with possible additional dates to follow.

Additional information and dates will be communicated following registration and upon distribution of the regatta calendar at the start of the season.
