Capital Yacht Club - "First Sail" Event

In our ongoing partnership with Capital Yacht Club, we will host a "First Sail" event for interested CYC Members at our Diamond Teague Park Piers location on Saturday, April 25th. Space is limited based on the available fleet.

We will offer two "waves" of exploratory sails: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Each session/wave will have space for a maximum of 10 persons. These events are for persons age 21+.

We will arrange for an experienced DC Sail Member or Staff Person/Instructor to serve as Skipper to safely take guests out for a 90-minute sail.

This is not a formal lesson but would perhaps include sharing some information related to the parts of the boat, sails, how/why the boat is moving, and if conditions are appropriate, permitting guests the opportunity to aid in the sailing of the boat through turns at the helm, and sail maneuvers - tacking and jibing.

This event is weather and water quality dependent. 

Registration is required so that we can manage attendance and know who is planning to attend so that we may send out needed updates, such as weather cancellation, etc.

When registering, kindly only select one session time to attend.

There is no cost to attend for CYC Members.
